Edwin E. Pike, Sr., age 83 of Milford, beloved husband of Esther Pike passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT.
Born in Mystic, CT on June 10, 1930 he was the son of the late Alice Pike.
Edwin served with pride and honor in the United States Air Force and was employed by the FAA for many years until his retirement.
He was a very caring “family man” with great character and integrity; kind and gentle.
In addition to his wife Esther of 62 years he is survived by his children Edwin Jr. and wife Robin of Wallingford, Linda Sadick and her husband Greg of Lake Forest CA, David Pike of Finleyville, PA, Cynthia Ruggeri and her husband Paul of Orange, CT and Brian Pike and wife Janice of Wallingford, CT. He loved his grandchildren Jillian, Kevin, Alicia, Sara, Jacob, Kyle, Corey, Matthew, Anneliese and Emily. He is also survived by his brother Earl Pike and his wife Pat of Rye, NY and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Avenue, Milford. Interment followed at Saint John Cemetery, Wallingford, CT. Calling hours were held on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460.
