Obituary: Edna Brehm Russell, formerly of Milford

Edna Brehm Russell, formerly of Milford, beloved wife to the late Thomas E. Russell, passed away on April 20, 2014 at Whitney Manor in Hamden. She spent the last several years of her life bravely battling Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in Bridgeport on January 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Hertha Krause Brehm.

Edna was formerly employed at Alexander’s Department store in Milford and was active in the Milford Senior Center.

She is survived by her children, Sharon DeAndrus and her husband Ronald of North Haven, Debra Callahan and her husband Jack of Corinna, ME., Wendy Buser and her husband Steven of Bomoseen, VT., Thomas Russell and his wife Elizabeth of Richmond, VT., and Robin DeGroat and her husband Steven of Clinton; twelve cherished grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, April 24th at 12:00 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. 06460. Interment to follow at King’s Highway Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Thursday, April 24th prior to the prayer service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association - CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Hwy, Ste. 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
