Deane A. Allen, age 70, resident of Orange and husband to Virginia Faia Allen, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Born in Derby on November 15, 1943, he was the son of the late Howard K. and Thelma A. Allen.
He was Vice President of Howard K. Allen Manufacturing for 45 years and after retirement worked for Home Depot in East Haven, CT. Deane was also a past member of the Milford Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Elks Club 1589.
Deane graduated from Eli Whitney Technical School as a Master Tool and Die maker. He was also an accredited Master Model maker as well.
Deane was an avid steam boater and loved traveling to all the steamboat meets around the country and Canada. He was invited to participate in the Boston Antique and Classic Boat shows and was a member of the International Steamboat Society & Steamboat Association of Great Britain.
Deane also enjoyed his time as an amateur HAM radio operator and obtained the top license in the field. He also loved to repair things and building projects.
He was a great man who will be truly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife Virginia, he is survived by two daughters, Kim SaNogueira (Michael) of Milford, Nancy Allen of Fairfield, and a son, David Allen of Milford; step-son William (Robbie) Robinson of North Carolina. Deane is also survived by his sister Deborah R. Allen (Lynne) of Guilford; four grandchildren, Samantha and Michael SaNogueira, Corinne Canedo, and Howard D.J. Allen.
A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 7PM at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford CT 06460. Friends and Family may call on Tuesday March 11, 2014 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be private.
