Obituary: Clayton Marshall Williams Sr., 90, of Milford

Clayton Marshall Williams, Sr., age 90, lifelong resident of Milford and beloved husband to the late Constance Claire Wiltshire Williams entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Milford Health Care.

Born on February 22, 1923 in Milford, he was the son of the late Norman and Lillian (Brooks) Williams.

He graduated from Milford High School and served with pride and honor in the US Army during WWII as a Technical Sergeant in the US, England, Belgium, France and Germany. He also spent time in Switzerland. Clayton was honorably discharged and went into the sanitation business. He retired from Norman Williams & Sons, Inc. in 1990.

He married his loving and devoted wife Constance in June of 1946 and they had two sons, Clayton Jr. and Robert. He was a devoted member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, serving as a member of the vestry, an usher, a chalice bearer and a lector. He was a past Worshipful Master of the Masonic Order, Oriental Lodge #6, a past member of the Milford-Orange YMCA and the Milford Jaycees. He was a member of the Milford Cemetery Association and the Wally Byam Caravan Club.

In addition to his loving sons, he is survived by two treasured granddaughters, Teresa and Ashley and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by four brothers, Norman, Sheldon, Charles and James.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 18th at King’s Highway Cemetery, Cherry St., Milford. Arrangements are being handled by the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 111 Whalley Ave., New Haven, CT 06511.
