Betty A. Chernock, age 83, longtime resident of Milford and beloved wife to the late Edward J. Chernock, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 26, 2014.
Born on March 17, 1932 in Kensington, CT, she was the daughter of the late Algot and Mary Marfyak Nelson.
She graduated from Furman University in South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree and, prior to her retirement, was employed with Alinabal.
In her spare time, Betty was an avid reader, loved going out to lunch and her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Kievits and Lisbeth (James) Sherman; five cherished grandchildren, Lauren (Paul) Larochelle, Justin and Erin Kievits, Lindsay and Adam Sherman; two great grandchildren, Hunter Britton and Ethan Larochelle; sisters, Carolyn Ryan, Lois (Robert) Hammond, and twin, Barbara Pantages and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 2nd at 10 am at the First United Church of Christ, 34 West Main St., Milford, CT. 06460. Committal will be private and there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
