Bernard “Bernie” Munz, age 88, longtime resident of Milford and beloved husband to Florence Silva Munz, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Milford Health Care with his loving wife by his side.
Born in Bear Valley, Wisconsin on March 1, 1925, he was the son of the late Anthony and Gertrude Miller Munz.
Bernie served with pride and honor in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant in the 59th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron. He was the owner and operator of Munz Dental Maintenance prior to his retirement.
In addition to his wife, Florence, he is survived by his daughter Laurie Ann Munz Beirne (Vincent) of Virginia and Christopher Scott Munz of Milford; his cherished grandson, Brian Beirne; two sisters, one brother and several loving nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 12:30 pm at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Thursday, January 2nd from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
