
Belinda Theresa Smith, born August 25, 1950 and passed away after a brief illness on December 26, 2014, in the embrace of her devoted son, Christopher.
Belinda grew up in Milford, and was a long-time resident of Middletown. Employed by Aetna for 32 years; she was a Pension Services Consultant until her death.
Chosen “Clan Mother” by her grandmother, Ethel Lillinonah Sherman Piper Baldwin Peters, Chieftainess Rising Star and predeceased Clan Mother of the Golden Hill Paugeesukq Tribe of Trumbull and Colchester. She is also predeceased by her mother, Ethel Mabel “Snow Girl” Baldwin Bailey Smith.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Michael Cawley, USMC, his loving wife, Lorie Anne and grandchildren, Cassandra, Amani, Ziva and Isaiah; her brothers, Walter “Joe” Bailey, Paul “Dave” Smith, Sr., Roger Michael Smith, Aaron Jeffrey Smith, Sr., and her sister, Kathleen Smith-Bogan. She will be deeply missed by her many beloved nephews and nieces who filled her home and heart with love and adoration. She was very proud to be their “Aunt Linda.”
Her family is grateful to her in-laws, friends and co-workers for their caring attention during this difficult time. She was comforted by their interest and efforts.
At Ms. Smith’s request, there will be a private memorial service at the family’s discretion.
