Ann Marie Rooney, of Milford, beloved wife of Gerard Rooney for 53 years, died on Wednesday, October 22.
Ann was born in Killeny, Ireland to the late Nicholas and Bridget Kearney.
Ann was a proud member of the New Haven, Fairfield and Milford Gaelic-American Irish Clubs and enjoyed many trips to Ireland, England as well as Scotland to visit extended family members.
Survivors include her cherished children: Anthony Rooney and wife Diane of Seymour, Gerald Rooney of Milford, Patrick Rooney and Virginia Cabeleira, four grandchildren; Daniel, Zachary, Andrea and Jacob Rooney, one sister, Kathleen Lapuch of Manchester, England and many nieces and nephews.
Ann touched everyone that ever met her with her compassion, her contagious smile, sense of humor and her enthusiasm for living life to its fullest. One of her greatest joys in life was when the family got together on special occasions.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 24th at 10:00AM DIRECTLY in Saint Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford. Prayers will be said in Mountain Grove Cemetery immediately following the church service. A private service for immediate family members only will take place in The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford on Friday morning from 8:30AM-9:30AM.
