Alfred Provenzano, age 83, of Milford, beloved husband of Aileen May Provenzano, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at West River Health Care Center, Milford.
Born in Bridgeport on February 9, 1931, he was the son of the late Saverio and Rosa Cicero Provenzano.
Alfred served with pride and honor in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, entertaining troops as a musician at Fort Jackson during his military service. He attended the University of Bridgeport, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Music.
Alfred was a talented musician, providing many years of enjoyment to others playing his sax, clarinet and flute. He continued his love of music during his 36 year long career as a music teacher for the City of Bridgeport, along with playing in dance bands, enjoying every second.
In addition to his wife Aileen of 62 years, he is survived by his three loving children, Bob Provenzano and his wife Claire of Woodbury, David Provenzano of Orange, and Rosemarie Provenzano of Milford. He is also survived by his six grandchildren Christopher, Nicholas, Laura, Robert A., Daniel, and Sarah, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by three brothers Joseph, Anthony and Albert Provenzano, a sister Vincenzina Amorando, and grandson Robert M. Provenzano.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT. Entombment will follow at Saint Michael Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave., Stratford, CT. Friends and family may call on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT.
