Resident opposes Pond Point Avenue development
To the Editor:
I want to express my objection and concern regarding the proposed construction of a three-story, 23-unit rental apartment complex at 86/84 Pond Point Avenue.
I believe that the intent by the developer for this structure will negatively impact the quality of life for the residents in this neighborhood.
This area of Pond Point already experiences traffic congestion and numerous accidents which would be greatly exacerbated by 23 more families attempting to exit onto the street. There also have been issues in the area related to residents getting water in their basements as the result of previous construction projects.
There would also be an overburdening of the sewer system and the viability of maintaining open space if this construction is approved.
The residents of Milford have had to endure the over development and commercialization of our small city for the last several decades and now we want our public officials to honor the will of the people and say enough.
We request that the members of the P&Z board decline the request for this housing development when in comes on their docket and we encourage all Milford residents to attend the P&Z meeting scheduled on Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m., at City Hall to show solidarity in rejecting this project.
