Reader asks representatives to seek truth

To the Editor:

This is an open letter to both Richard Blumenthal and Rosa DeLauro. You are my representatives. I didn’t vote for either one of you but you are expected to represent all citizens, correct? You are also expected to defend the Constitution. And, you are expected to stand for integrity in government too, correct? If you agree then I am asking you both to please stand up and insist the White House and the President tell the truth about both the Benghazi attack of 9/11/12 and the IRS targeting of Tea Party groups.

On May 19 on the Sunday talk shows, Dan Pfeiffer, a senior White House adviser said that asking questions about where the President was the evening of the Benghazi attack was offensive. With all respect Senator and Congresswoman, what is offensive is that there are four dead American heroes and we still don’t know who killed them.

What is offensive is how the White House and President refuse to answer questions which will give us the information we need to make sure this does not happen again. What is offensive is knowing this administration and Hillary Clinton blamed the attack on a video and they told that lie to the families of the dead.

What is offensive is the liberal philosophy which puts the benefits of the collective ahead of the rights of individuals.

Were the individual rights of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness (protected by the Constitution) of the four heroes in Benghazi violated in order to achieve some unknown benefit for the "collective?"  Were the individual rights of the legitimate Tea Party Groups violated in order to achieve some unknown benefit for the "collective" and did that violation impact the outcome of the Presidential election in 2012? I assert it is your job to stand up and find out.

What is offensive is how this President tramples on the Constitution and others, who have also taken the oath to defend the Constitution, say and do nothing. People like you. It’s time you change. It’s time you stand for integrity. It’s time you represent all Americans and defend the Constitution.

I beseech you both to demand the truth. I ask you to take the side of integrity and not choose the side of your party. I ask that you do your job instead of playing politics. Demand the truth on Benghazi. Demand the truth in the IRS scandal. I ask you to do your jobs. Stand for integrity. Stand for the Constitution. Keep your oath.
