To the Editor:
I'd like to commend the dedicated City of Milford employees of the Public Works Wastewater Division, under the direction of Wastewater Superintendent Jim Cooper.

Earlier this year, I unexpectedly found that water had backed up into my basement. I contacted two private plumbers. The second, RAPS Plumbing & Heating, identified the problem as a break in the line, probably where my line joined the city sewer, and contacted the City Wastewater Division.
Within 24 hours, Joyce from the Wastewater Division left a message at my home. She said I could call her at work from 7 a.m. on the following Monday and, quite frankly, I was skeptical.
When I called at 7:15 a.m. that Monday, Joyce was indeed ready to discuss my issue and schedule a city crew to examine it. The crew, led by Craig, quickly identified the problem; communicated a plan to fix it; showed up, as promised, at the appointed time to do the work; cleaned up afterward; and advised me on additional steps I might want to take.
Thank you Jim Cooper & staff for your dedication, professionalism and courtesy.
