Man has no use for speeches, wants substance
To The Editor:
Funny about speeches - you can't eat them. You can't fuel your car nor your home with them. You can't dress, educate nor support your children with them. You can't build and support your family with them nor pay for healthcare insurance with them. You certainly can't bury your kin with them.
Speeches only serve our people if the words are given flesh with hands on follow through. Yes, speeches can emotionally lift us up to hope - but you cannot survive on hope alone. It must be united to faith and love, care and compassion in action, a living reality.
As far as the last four years, we have heard great "means tested" speeches which have delivered very little real substance, not much meat. In fact the empty mouth of a skeleton.
