Letter: State has too many trees

Editor’s Note: The following letter is in response to a letter last week from resident Tom Jagodzinski lamenting the taking down of trees in Milford.
To the Editor:
So you think Milford hates trees. Well, I applaud every time I see a tree being taken down and many are being taken down on Meadowside Road lately. Makes me very happy.

Apparently, you don't remember Hurricane Gloria and saw the devastation and inconvenience fallen trees cause. And I lived on the west coast of Florida for eleven years from 1994-2005 and survived mandatory evacuation three times and saw the devastation trees did, almost taking down my home and everything in it.

I think Connecticut has too many trees as it is and cringe every time I see new ones planted.
