William F. Lynch, M.D., practiced internal medicine in Milford before turning to psychiatry, completing his residency at the Institute of Living in Hartford, husband of Rosemary C. Lynch, died May 24.

Born in New Haven, Nov. 11, 1924, son of the late William F. and Alice G. Lynch; field medic, U.S. Army; served as first director of St. Raphael's psychiatric unit and as a member of the state Board of Mental Health, clinical director of Bridgeport Community Mental Health Center, chief of psychiatry at Fairfield Hills State Hospital, served on the Milford Board of Health.

Besides his wife, survivors include his children, Bill, his wife, Nicole, and their three daughters, of Seymour; Rosemary, her husband, Tom Dillon, and their son, of Denver, Colo.; Tom, his wife, Sharon, and her son of Southbury; and Peter and his two children, of Milford, many brothers- and sisters-in law, nieces and nephews.

Also predeceased by his sister, Sr. Wilma Lynch O.P., and cousin.

Services: Friday, May 27, 10:30 a.m., St. Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Ave., Milford. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Visiting hours: Thursday, May 26, from 4-7 p.m., Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, Milford.
