Sebastian T. Brancato, age 82, of Milford Connecticut, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014 in Milford Hospital.

He was born on November 8, 1931 to the late Anthony and Concetta Nicosia Brancato in Ozone Park, NY.

He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War as Sergeant First Class. Before retiring, he was employed by Olin Corporation and later MacDermid Corp., as an assistant Director of Research and Chemist. His Professional achievements include developing Toner inks and micro computer board plate etching processes, many of which were later patented.

A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his loving wife Pauline Sapia Brancato, son Anthony Thomas Brancato, daughter Paula Concetta Brancato, Grandchildren; Anthony, Steven, and Christopher, Sister; Marie Desimone, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 4 to 8 pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N Broad St., Milford. A Christian Burial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 22nd at 9:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Gulf St., Milford. Interment will follow in the US Veteran’s Cemetery in Middletown, CT with full military honors.
