Rosario P. “Russell” Pizzillo, 66, of East Haven, peacefully entered into eternal rest on September 1, 2013, at the West Haven VA Hospital. He was the beloved fiancé of 21 years to Sharon L. Curcio of East Haven.

Mr. Pizzillo was born in Malden, Essex, England on Aug. 2, 1947, loving son of Jean Jarvis Pizzillo of Milford and the late Rosario Pizzillo. He was a resident of East Haven for many years, previously having lived in Milford.

Russ was employed as a manager at the former Milford Automatics in Orange for 35 years until the company’s closing. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the US Army in Vietnam.

He was a muscle car enthusiast and an avid fisherman and NY Yankees fan.

In addition to his mother and fiancé, he is survived by 5 brothers, Anthony, Gene and Peter Pizzillo of SC, Glen Pizzillo of NY and Neil Pizzillo of Milford, 2 sisters, Nancy Eluk of TN and Mary Ellen Herndon of West Haven, a devoted and caring uncle and aunt, Peter and Mary Pizzillo of Ansonia, sister in law, Deborah Rosadini and her husband John of North Haven and numerous nieces and nephews.

Russ’s visitation, funeral service with military honors and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, has been privileged with the arrangements.
