Richard James Ceresa, age 67, longtime resident of Milford, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 24, in West Haven Veterans Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Richard was born on July 13, 1948, in Urbana, IL to the late Emile and Edna (Hulse) Ceresa and was a graduate of Warren Harding High School, class of 1967. He proudly served in the US Army and completed a tour in the Vietnam conflict.

Before retiring, Richard was a self-employed carpenter, artist and sculptor.

Richard is survived by his loving son, Richard Ceresa, Jr., his wife Cherie and four cherished grandchildren: Olivia, Noah, Samuel and Richard III of Franklin, NH. Richard is also survived by his sister, Karen Stelmaszek and her husband, Ted, of Shelton, and brother, Michael Ceresa and his wife, Ann, of Prospect, and Richard's Girlfriend, Nancy Petrone of Milford, in addition to many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private but donations may be made to Connecticut Department of Veterans' Affairs, 287 West St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
