Nicholas Andrew Pyrch Sr., 98, of Milford, husband of the late Lucille May Sloan-Pyrch, died Jan. 6, at the VA Hospital in West Haven.

Born in November 1917 in Bridgeport; U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945; worked at Bridgeport Wholesale Confectionary, Carpenter Steel, Platt’s Clover Dairy, was a butcher at Stop and Save Market in Milford then New England Security Services.

Survived by nine children, Debra Pyrch-Brockman, Thomas Pyrch, James Pyrch, William Pyrch, Edward Pyrch, Angeanetta Murray, Patrick Pyrch, Margaret Pyrch-Bowlan, and Maureen Pyrch; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and his younger brother, John Pyrch.

Also predeceased by a son, Nicholas Pyrch Jr., his parents, Andrew Nicholas Pyrch and Anna Pupchik-Pyrch, brothers, Steven and William, and sister, Josephine Craw.

Services: Friday, Jan. 15, 11 a.m., Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green, Stratford. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford. Visiting hours: 10-11 a.m.
