Mary A. Katona, 97, of Milford, wife of the late John Katona, died peacefully on May 12, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.

Daughter of the late Joseph Pazak and Helen Adrassy Pazsak, she was born Nov. 30, 1915.

She loved her knitting and worked for 30 years as a knitting instructor for the Milford Senior Center where she made several friends. She took great pride in her Hungarian cooking and she also enjoyed sharing her recipes with family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted and loving son, Joseph Kovach and his wife, Joan E. Schoenhals of Heath, Mass.; her sister, Vilma Hannon of Bridgeport; a brother, Alexander E. (Sally-Ann) Pazsak Jr. of Milford; sister-in-law, Mary Pazsak; a niece and several nephews.

She also was predeceased by her son, John Kovach; daughter, Andrea Kmetz; son-in-law, Andrew; and brother, Joseph Pazsak.

Johnson Funeral Home, Shelburne, Mass., handled arrangements. Graveside services will be held Friday, June 21, at 11 a.m., in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
