Obituary: Margaret Mooney Hermanns, 90, of Milford
Margaret Mooney Hermanns, 90, of Milford, CT, passed peacefully November 25, 2015 surrounded by her loving children.
The beloved wife of the late Robert Carl Hermanns, Sr., she was born in Derby, CT, on August 20, 1925 to the late Thomas J. and Mary McKenzie Mooney.
Margaret graduated from Derby High School and attended The Hospital of St. Raphael School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at Milford Hospital and area nursing homes and retired from St. Joseph’s Manor in Trumbull in 1986. She continued her nursing work after retirement to Florida volunteering for hospitals and for The Society for the Blind.
She was a member and past president of the McAuley Guild of Lauralton Hall during the years that her 6 daughters attended the school, from 1961 to 1983.
Margaret is survived by her children, Gail and her husband Paul Beliveau of FL, Mary Osborne McKenzie of VA, Noreen and her husband Edward Fenton of KY, Shawn and her husband Art Landry of Milford, Robin Hermanns of New Haven, Robert and his wife Amy Hermanns, Jr. of Bridgeport and Heidi and her husband Mark Warren of Milford; fifteen grandchildren and their spouses; eleven great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Lorraine Webb; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Margaret was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas, Robert and Kevin and their spouses; her sister Nancy and her husband; her half brothers, John and James Mooney; and her sister-in-law Eileen Hermanns and brothers-in-law, Henry Hermanns and Bruce Webb.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT. Interment will follow at Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery, 219 New Haven Ave., Derby, CT. Friends and family may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.
