Obituary: Lydia Faia Milazzo Reysen, 85, lifelong Milford resident
Lydia Faia Milazzo Reysen, age 85, lifelong resident of Milford and beloved wife to Herman Reysen, found eternal rest on March 23, 2013 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Milford on July 12, 1927, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Gentile Faia. She grew up on East Broadway and graduated from Milford HS Class of ’46. Proud and happy to be one of the “Beach Kids,” Lydia always fondly reminisced how wonderful it was to be part of a small community where everyone knew each other and those friendships still lasted to this day.
Prior to her retirement, Lydia worked for Raybestos in Stratford in a clerical position. When her children, Maria and Chuck were school age, Lydia became part of the Pumpkin Delight Gals, who, to this day, the gals gather together for love, support, companionship and laughs. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Gabriel’s Church.
Lydia loved life and even through tough times, managed to smile and say “oh well, what are you going to do!” She was a loving, warm- hearted, gentle and kind wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly and sadly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, Herman of 34 years, she is survived by her children, Charles and Maria Milazzo both of Milford, his cherished granddaughter, Christina Milazzo of Ansonia, her sisters, Rose Mancini of Milford, Theresa DeLeo of FL and Virginia Allen of Orange, and many loving nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and friends.
Lydia was predeceased by her first husband, Charles G. Milazzo.
