Obituary: Kathleen Topitzer Attruia, formerly of Milford
Kathleen Topitzer Attruia of Pinellas Park, Fla., much beloved wife for 26 years of Michael Attruia, passed away on May 3, 2017 in Dunedin, Fla., after a long illness. She was 62.
Born in Bridgeport to the late Marjorie and Oscar Topitzer, Kathy also leaves behind a daughter Julia, granddaughter Tara, sister Carol, sister-in-law Sue, nephew Nick and many cousins. Kathy, a long time Milford, CT resident, was a 1973 graduate of Jonathan Law High School, where later in life she served as the principal’s secretary for 15 years, retiring from that position in June of 2015. Kathy was a well known and much loved member of the Milford community, an amazing talent, known for her stage presence, for both acting and singing/guitar playing in several local bands, as well as a talented softball player. In later years Kathy loved spending time with family and friends, playing hostess at home, or with her beloved church family, members of UCC in Devon.
Upon her retirement from JLHS, Kathy, Michael, Julia and then unborn granddaughter Tara moved to Florida, where she and her husband spent all of their time with Julia and new grandchild Tara, whom she loved dearly.
A service celebrating Kathy’s life will be held on Saturday, June 3 at 1 p.m. in the auditorium of Jonathan Law High School, 20 Lansdale Avenue in Milford.
In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to The United Church of Christ in Devon, 30 Ormond Street, Milford, CT 06461.
