Obituary: Howard C. Sanger, 102, a Milford resident for more than 50 years
Howard C. Sanger, age 102, husband of the late Theresa E. Sanger passed away on Thursday June 20, 2013.
Born in Newark, NJ on November 3, 1910 Mr. Sanger was a resident of Milford, CT. for more than 50 years.
He was a New York Yankee fan all his life, as a boy he loved going to the games watching Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig hit many home runs.
Howard served in the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Salt Lake City. While on the ship he met Herbert Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt. Howard retired from the Apex Tool Co. Bridgeport where he worked in the heat treat department for over 40 years.
Howard is pre deceased by his son Howard C. Sanger Jr., who was a Ct. State Trooper, grandson Robert J. Sanger Jr., of Milford and his wife Rhonda Sanger.
Survivors include his son Robert J. Sanger and wife Carol of Danielson, Ct. Grandchildren include Brian Sanger of West Haven, CT., Kristen Gunther and husband Casey of Waterford, CT., Howard Sanger and wife Paula of Parker CO. Michael Sanger and wife Darci of Williamsburg, VA., Lynn Sanger of Moore, OK. Robert D. Sanger and his wife Lynn of SC, eight great grandchildren and a niece Carol Ann Westberg who has helped take care of Howard for two years.
Burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery, St. Patrick’s Avenue, Stratford, Ct.
