Obituary: Frank D. Camputaro, 80, owner of Maple Tree Farms of Milford

Frank D. Camputaro, age 80, beloved husband of Virginia Rice Camputaro for 24 years, passed away with his family by his side, on Sunday, May 12, 2013.

He was born in West Haven on November 11, 1932 to the late Angelo and Carmella Gianotti Camputaro.

Frank served in the Army and was a veteran in the Korean Conflict where he received injuries. After the service he went into farming and owned and operated, for over 50 years, Maple Tree Farms of Milford.

Frank was a devoted husband, father and friend. He enjoyed bull riding and horseback riding and with his wife Ginger and their dog Bullet, one of their fondest memories was traveling across country for seven weeks going from rodeo to rodeo in their camper.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his son Marc Camputaro (Terry) of Woodbury, step-sons John (Sharon) McCarthy of TN and Michael (Carol) McCarthy, step-daughters Debbie (Greg) Field and Donna (Ronald) Standish all of Milford, brothers Dominic (Patty) Camputaro, Andy (Jeri) Camputaro, sisters Angela (Mike) D’Errico, Jean Desimone and Theresa Mucha, all of West Haven. Step-grandchildren; David Wilson, Bryan Wilson, Michael Field, Beth Plonsky, Lauren McCarthy. Grandchildren; Jenna and Drew Camputaro, all of Milford and 4 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Frank was predeceased in Nov. 2012 by his son Frank Jr., and also by his five sisters.

Calling hours are Monday, May 20th from 3:30 to 6:30 pm, with a Prayer Service at 6pm, at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. Interment to be at the convenience of the family.
