Obituary: Frances “Nancy” Haury, of Milford
Frances “Nancy” Haury of Milford, Connecticut died March 8th at Milford Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Frances Ann Wanagel on March 9, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, she grew up in Salisbury, Connecticut and spent much of her life in the New Haven area, including Woodbridge and Guilford. She also lived for ten years in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania.
She was a devoted and beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was involved in many church, school, and civic activities over the years. Nancy’s lively spirit, dignity, and appreciation for the simple and precious gifts in life will be remembered always. She will be deeply missed by all her knew her.
She is survived by her eight children, eighteen grandchildren, and o ne great grandchild. Her children and their spouses include Gretchen (Dennis), David (Carolyn), Sally (Nathan), Katherine, Amy (Mark), Matthew (Kym), Elisabeth, and Christopher (Trudy).
Her grandchildren include Alex, Ana, David, Melissa (Brad), Stuart, Peter, Eliza, Will, Meg, Katie, Sage, Ella, Hannah, Zoe, Emile, Taylor, Elena and Jordan, and great grandchild David.
She formerly was married to A. Richard Haury of Milford, Connecticut.
There will be a Memorial Mass held on Saturday, March 16th at 10 am at St. George Catholic Church, 33 Whitfield Street, Guilford, Connecticut, followed by a private burial service for family members only, and a reception for family and friends from 11:30 am to 4 pm at The Stone House Restaurant, 506 Whitfield Street, Guilford, Connecticut. Gifts of flowers for the service can be arranged through Cody- White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460.
