Col. Gerald H Parshall, 83, USAF retired, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away peacefully at his summer home in Milford, Connecticut on May 5.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Jeannette Carry Parshall, four sons: Gerald H. Parshall, Jr. (Mary Jean Schmitt), Edward J. Parshall (Jane Scully Parshall), James F. Parshall (Sheila Nicholson Parshall), and Thomas P. Parshall (Laura Beaudet Parshall). Also survived by five grandchildren, Gerald III, Adam, Helen, Mary Elizabeth and Isabelle; a sister, Janice Tripp and seven nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a half-brother Floyd Parshall and his sister Joanne Rauchfleisch.

Col. Parshall, born in Jackson, Michigan, was a 1954 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and served for over 23 years on active duty in the United States Air Force, including three combat tours in South East Asia and four years teaching at the United States Air Force Academy.

Relatives and friends may visit at Cody White Funeral Service, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday, May 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT at 11 am on Saturday, May 10, followed by interment at St. Mary Cemetery on Buckingham Avenue. There will be a Memorial Mass and celebration of Colonel Parshall’s life at a later date in Maryland.
