Anne R. Tighe, age 85, longtime resident of Milford and beloved wife to the late Daniel L. Tighe, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 19, 2014.

Born in New Haven on April 3, 1928, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Devlin Doyle.

Anne was a resident of Morningside for over 48 years, a member of the Morningside Athletic Club (MAC) and Point Beach PTA. Proud Bronze Star Mother, Anne also volunteered her time reading to the blind.

She enjoyed tending to her garden, going for long walks, was an avid Red Sox fan and was a devout communicant of St. Agnes.

Anne will be remembered for her gentle, caring and charitable nature, and as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

She is survived by her children, Lawrence J. Tighe (Linda), James P Tighe (Caroline), Dennis J. Tighe (Prathuang), John E. Tighe (Janine) and Daniel M. Tighe (Alison); cherished grandchildren, Michael Tighe, Michelle Carbone, Kevin, Melissa, Daniel, Bank, Erika, Amanda, Daniel, William, Matthew and Rebecca Tighe; great grandchild, Julia Carbone and her sibling, Richard and William Doyle, Eileen Kelleher and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sons, Thomas D. and Timothy J. Tighe and her siblings, Mary, James, Francis, Regina and Elizabeth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 24th at 11:00 am (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH) at St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Ave., Milford. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Sunday, March 23rd from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
