Louis M. “Mike the Rebel” Steskla Sr., age 88, died on Monday August 6, 2012.
Mr. Steskla was born in Alice, Kentucky on Dec. 29, 1923 to the late John and Carrie Racer Steskla.
He was raised in West Virginia and moved to Connecticut in the 1940s.
He first worked at the Bridgeport Brass and then later became a self employed electrician and finally an electrical contractor.
In 1963 he settled with his family in Milford.
Survivors include his three children, Patricia Ruddy (Drew) of South Carolina, Louis Steskla, Jr. (Cathy) of Cheshire, and Donna Gerald (David) of Maryland, a sister; Jane Murdock of West Virginia, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Steskla is pre-deceased by his brother, John Steskla and sister, Margaret Thomas.
Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 4-7PM at The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Prayers for the deceased will be said at 6:30PM. Interment will take place in West Virginia at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Highland Health Care Center for their compassionate care and understanding hearts throughout Mr. Steskla’s time there.
