Joan Palmieri, age 76, of East Haven and longtime resident of Milford, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Born in Milford on February 22, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian May Simon.
Prior to her retirement, she was a production manager for Schick in Milford. Raised in the Walnut Beach section of Milford, Joan was proud of her ties to the community and took great joy in the beach surroundings.
She was an avid animal lover who always had a pet at home to care for. A down-to-earth, giving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Joan will be remembered for her big heart and her contagious and unique laugh.
She is survived by her children, Keith, Toni Ann, Randy and Scotty and her cherished grandchildren, Keith Jr., Jessica, Meagan, Shannon, Michael, Amanda, Terra and Samantha and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Shirley Irene Richards Hughes, Barbara Lorraine Filanowski and Bill Richards any many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph Frederick and Earl Henry.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, August 16th from 11 am to 1 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. Committal will be private.
