Brian Michael Casey
Brian Michael Casey, 54, of Trumbull, entered eternal life on August 14, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Brian was born in Bridgeport on February 5, 1958.
He was the loving and devoted son of the late Edward Patrick and Josephine (Dooling) Casey. Brian was the fourth of their five children.
Brian was the loving and devoted husband of Elizabeth (Kenny) Casey, his wife of nearly 24 years.
Brian was and will always be the beloved father of two extraordinary daughters whom he loved and cherished and to whom he was devoted - Meghan E. Casey and Catherine A. Casey. They will forever be his pride and joy. It is for his family that Brian courageously battled cancer these last five years.
Brian was a graduate of St. Theresa’s Grammar School in Trumbull, Notre Dame Catholic High School in Fairfield and the University of New Haven’s School of Engineering where he earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
During his career, he worked in several technical and managerial capacities for Bunker Ramo, Olivetti, Symantec and Novell. During those years, his work brought him to most of the 50 states as well as Europe.
Since 2004, he had the job he would say he loved the most - working as a Crime Analysis Specialist for the Trumbull Police Department. Brian also served on the Trumbull Town Council for six terms beginning in 1991 and took great pride in serving his fellow citizens.
In addition to his wife and daughters, Brian is survived by his three brothers and his sister and their children - all of whom he loved dearly. Edward and Laurie Casey and their children Eddy, Maryellen and Caroline of Chelmsford, MA; Kevin and Margaret Casey and their children Katie and Kevin of San Antonio, TX; Joan (Casey) and Edward Degnan and their children Sean and Erin of Milford; and Michael and Debbie Casey and their children Michael, Colin, Patrick, Julia, Amelia and Joseph of Fayetteville, GA. Brian is also survived by his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Kenny of Clonmel, Ireland, his uncle, Dennis Dooling of Bridgeport, his aunt Anne Murray of Austin, TX and his aunt Jean Casey of Bridgeport as well as many cousins and friends, all of whom he loved.
His quick wit, sense of humor, easy smile, hearty laugh and loving and caring way will be missed by his family and friends. It is the love, kindness, thoughtfulness and prayers of his family and friends that sustained him during these last several years.
