Six students honored for outstanding service

Six students from the Milford public schools received recognition awards for their outstanding service and achievements from the South Central Area Superintendents’ Association.
Students were recognized for their community service and service to others, academic prowess, and leadership in the school community.
School Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Feser presented the awards to the Milford students at a special luncheon held on March 13 at Cascade in Hamden.
Award winners from throughout south central Connecticut were invited to take part in the celebration.
Milford’s award recipients for 2015 are Barry Held, a fifth grader at Orchard Hills Elementary School; Vanessa Amaro, a fifth grader at Meadowside Elementary School; Cristina Ludwig, an eighth grader at Harborside Middle School; Eric Levesque, an eighth grader at East Shore Middle School; Jarrod Butts, a senior at Jonathan Law High School, and Shaina Arsenault, a senior at Joseph A. Foran High School.
