Lauralton students to stage play If a Man Answers this weekend

Lauralton Hall announced that ‘If a Man Answers’ by Richard Morris will be staged as this year’s school play. The production will premier Friday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m., with additional showings Saturday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 8 at 2:30 p.m.

This year’s director is Lauralton Hall senior, Elizabeth Martinez. As student director her duties included choosing the show, casting, props, costumes and keeping the entire cast focused during the 8 hours of afterschool rehearsal a week.

In this comedy, “If a Man Answers” a rich socialite, Chantal, marries Eugene, a photographer, and everything seems blissful until her jealous friend attempts to break them up. In desperation, she looks to her mother, but the advice she receives was sure to stir up trouble. This becomes a story of manipulation and tricks to keep her man.

The play will take place at Lauralton Hall’s Claven Auditorium, 200 High Street, Milford. Tickets will be available at the door - $10 general admission and $7 for students and senior citizens.
