Groups collect backpacks for Milford students

The Salvation Army Milford Service Unit, along with several area churches and businesses, are working together to make sure all students have the necessary back-to-school supplies come September.

The goal is to provide backpacks filled with supplies to children whose families struggle to afford essential back-to-school items. New backpacks, notebooks, pens and pencils, markers, glue sticks and three-ring binders are among the items being collected.

Those interested in contributing to this project are welcome to drop off donations at the Milford Health Department, 82 New Haven Avenue, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., through Aug. 15.
