Elected officials teach cub scouts the value of citizenship

State Reps. Charles Ferraro (R-117), Kim Rose (R-118), Pam Staneski (R-119) and Milford Mayor Ben Blake all attended the St. Mary based Cub Scout Pack 721 meeting where the cub scouts learned about the concept of citizenship in local and state government.

Each of the state and local officials discussed what got them interested in public service, how they became interested in politics, and how they got elected.

The officials described citizenship as a respectful relationship between the individual and the community with each citizen adhering to the laws the society has established for the betterment of all. Being a citizen not only gives one basic rights but also basic responsibilities.

Saint Mary School/Church sponsors Cub Scout Pack 721 which is open to all boys ages 7-11.
