Platt’s Annual Fall Craft and Food Truck Festival and Car Cruise is October 18.
From hot rods, to Camaros and Corvettes to muscle cars and classics, there will be a piece of history rolling into Milford for the event.
“These cars are works of art and part of one of the best car cruises around,” said Platt teacher Mike Zilinek. “Last year there were local car clubs, classics, muscle cars, hot rods and military vehicles that attended.”
The fall craft festival and car cruise is Platt Tech’s largest annual fundraiser.
The classic car cruise last year featured almost 200 cars with trophies and dash plaques designed and made by Platt students.
Among other festival features are craft artisans from Connecticut displaying and selling everything from hand crafted jewelry, holiday fall and Christmas items, lockets, books and puppets, natural body products, family games, hardwood toys and puzzles, soy candles and much more.
Other highlights of the day include “Platt’s Pumpkin Patch” with 500 pumpkins in all shapes and sizes for sale, games, prizes, music and a silent auction.
This year there will be local food trucks from The Sugar Bakery, StreetSide Hotdogs, Adam’s Italian Ices, Spuds Your Way, Joey C’s, The Buzz Truck and Elm City Kettle Corn. There will be an extensive menu with gourmet burgers, chicken sandwiches, grilled cheese, over stuffed potatoes, pastries, pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches and gourmet cupcakes.
Platt’s chefs and staff will be cooking up the morning breakfast sandwiches, homemade fried dough, caramel apples, cider and a popular bake sale hosted by the National Honor Society.
“It’s the perfect way to enjoy a community tradition you don’t want to miss and to support the students at Platt Tech,” said Zilinek.
All car makes, models and years are welcome with a $10 suggested donation for cars, free admission to the public.
