The VFW Post 7788 & Ladies Auxiliary is sponsoring several scholarship programs for Milford students in grades 6 to 12.

Each of the scholarship programs incorporates a patriotic theme. Prizes are progressive and awarded at local, district, state and national levels. Entries may earn more than $30,000 to be used to further the student's education.

The two scholarships are:

Patriot’s Pen: This scholarship program is open to sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. The theme for this year’s essay is “What Patriotism Means to Me.”

Voice of Democracy: This scholarship program is an oral essay open to ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade students. The theme for this year’s essay is “Why I’m Optimistic About Our Nation’s Future.”
