Brian Scott has been named the new Instructional Supervisor of Social Studies and World Languages for the Milford school system, filling the position to be vacated by Dr. Ralph Barbiero, who is retiring.

Scott has been an educator for 20 years, 15 years as a classroom teacher, primarily social studies, and five years as curriculum and instructional leader for social studies (6-12) in the Weston Public Schools.

He began his career in Collier County Schools in Florida teaching middle school social studies and sixth grade math. He came to Connecticut in 2006 and taught for four years at Staples High School before assuming his current role in Weston.

He will begin in Milford in the middle of August.
