Milford college students recognized for achievement

Christine Pala of Milford, a sophomore at Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I., was named to the fall semester dean’s list. She is majoring in nursing.
Kyra Blacketter of Milford was named to the Stevenson University dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester. She is a visual communication design major.
The following local students have been named to the Marist College dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester:
Lauren Aliberti is a member of the Class of 2018 and is majoring in psychology and special education.
Valentina Ballas is a member of the Class of 2017 and is majoring in business administration.
Nicole Briel is a member of the Class of 2017 and is majoring in interior design.
Matthew Capobianco is a member of the Class of 2018 and is majoring in mathematics.
The following students have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester at Curry College: Julianna Petrucelli and Mary Wynne.
Ryan Dennis was one of three Worcester Polytechnic Institute track and field student-athletes to set a school record recently at the Boston University Scarlet and White Invitational.
Dennis made his mark in the 500-meter dash with a 10th-place 1:06.56. The sophomore then teamed with Austin Holliday, Warren Staver and Joey Collins to close out the day with a sixth place 3:18.95 in the 4x400-meter relay.
Kenneth Clancy, a native of Milford, has been named to the University of Iowa’s Dean’s List for the 2014 fall semester.
The following local residents made the dean’s list for fall 2014-2015 semester at Rochester Institute of Technology: Sami Yousef, who is a first-year student in the management program in RIT’s Saunders College of Business, and Christopher Caradonna, a fifth-year student in the mechanical engineering program in RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering.
Alexandra Lenihan of Milford was among a group of Eastern Connecticut State University students who attended the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.
She and the other students participated in theatre workshops, scholarship competitions, attended shows and networked with theatre students and faculty from different universities in New England.
Alexandra is majoring in theater.
Eastern Connecticut State University recently released its list of newly enrolled full-time students for the spring 2015 semester.
Among them are Caitlin DeGennaro and Laura Sheedy of Milford.
Natalie Ambrosey of Milford has been named to the University of Delaware dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester.
Stephen Furda of Milford has been named to the Emerson College dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester. Furda is majoring in media arts production.
Bernard Smigel of Milford is a finalist in Champlain College’s 2015 Elevator Pitch Competition. Smigel competed in the Entrepreneur category.
The contest, which is put on by Champlain College’s BYOBiz Program, Career Services, the Center for Service & Civic Engagement, and the Office of Advancement, requires students to give a 90 second pitch to an executive as they ride together in a fictional elevator. The three categories of competition are Entrepreneurs, Job/Internship Seekers, and Non-Profit/Social Advocates.
Alyssa Kemp, a student at the University of Connecticut, was named to the school’s dean’s list. She is a student in the school of nursing.
The Merrimack College dean’s list for fall 2014 has been announced. Kelsey Meise, Taylor Criscuolo and Bethany LaSella of Milford were named to the dean’s list.
Brett Gibbs, a member of the class of 2018 from Milford, has been named to the fall 2014 dean’s list at Loyola University Maryland.
To qualify for the dean’s list at Loyola, a student must have a GPA of at least 3.5 with a minimum of 15 credits.
Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its fall 2014 dean’s list. The list includes Milford residents Brett Gibbs, Cristina Kempf and Nicole Postighone.
Bridgit E. Connors of Milford graduated from Franklin Pierce University in the fall of 2014 with a bachelor of arts degree in graphic communications.
Erica A. Durazzo, of Milford, a freshman majoring in elementary education K-6/K-8 from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H., was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester.
