Law’s Caitlin Prete earns full scholarship to Albertus Magnus College

Caitlin Prete, who recently graduated from Jonathan Law High School, will attend Albertus Magnus College in the fall. She plans to major in accounting and minor in marketing.

Caitlin received a presidential scholarship and grant to Albertus Magnus, covering her tuition, and she will play volleyball and participate in cross country.

Caitlin was a first honors and high honors student through high school. She won five All-SCC All Academic Awards. In volleyball she was picked unanimously by the SCC to be All SCC All Hammonasset All Star. She was picked as the MVP three times, twice as best hitter, three times as best defender and three times as best server. Her totals for her high school years were 366 kills, 288 serving aces, and 726 digs.

She led her team to SCC and State playoff berths with five straight wins with double figure kill and dig games with 17, 15, 13, 14 and 20 offensive kills along with 26, 22, 24, 21 and 28 defensive dig games, the best of which was against Amity, when she had 20 kills and 28 digs, and put them into states.

She also won three state championships in volleyball at Connecticut Jrs. in Woodbridge in the past four years.

In Jonathan Law’s outdoor track she was picked as the Katzmartsic Invitational MVP with three wins in the 800m, 4x800m as anchor, and the 4x400m as anchor. She broke the 26-year-old 800m solo record with a 2:25.38 run in the Eastern Sectionals. She also broke the 4x800m and 4x400m school and Katzmartsic records in her junior year.

In indoor track she broke the 600m solo record for Law and also was picked MVP of the team. In the Eastern Sectional, SCC’s, and States for indoor and outdoor track, Caitlin won five medals along with 15 ribbons.
