Harborside's chorus takes first place in competition

In The Parks chorus competition held on May 27 in Agawam, Mass.,  Harborside Middle School's eighth grade chorus won first place for mixed choirs with a superior rating and Best Choir Over All in a middle school, for their performances of Lean on Me and Kuimka. In addition, Anton Kot won Best Student Accompanist for his drumming on a djembe for Kuimba. This was the first year that Harborside competed in this event, which draws students from New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut. The Harborside choir was the largest in attendance, with 83 students.
