On Friday, May 17, the Milford Chamber of Commerce presented scholarships to 25 students from the Milford area.

The $21,500 in scholarships awarded were funded through the Milford Chamber of Commerce Trust Fund, which raises money for these annual scholarships through their BIC Golf Classic event. This year's annual golf tournament will take place on Monday, July 15, at Mill River Country Club in Stratford. All players are invited to participate. Call 203-878-0681 to register.

The following scholarships were awarded.

The Edmund Meinket Memorial Scholarship for $1,000 went to Hamsa Ganapathi  of Joseph A. Foran High School.

The Berchem, Moses & Devlin Scholarship of $1,000 went to Daniel Ourfalian of Jonathan Law High School.

The Fred A. Deluca/Subway Scholarship for $1,000 was awarded to Anisha Manglani of Jonathan Law High School.

A second Fred A. Deluca/Subway Scholarship for $1,000 went to Brittany Kasinak of Joseph A. Foran High School.

A Kingdom Life Christian Church Scholarship for $1,000 went to Christine Pala, a Foran student.

John Lorensen's Acura of Milford Scholarship for $1,000 went to Katherine Leiper of Lauralton Hall.

Milford Consortium for Child Care Initiatives for $1,000 went to Erica Criscione of Jonathan Law High School.

A University of Bridgeport award for $1,000 went to Rana Mumtaz of Jonathan Law High School.

A Schick scholarship for $750 went to Nomin Munkhbat of Joseph A. Foran High School.

The McInnis Companies awarded scholarships of $500 to Linda Mejia of Law and  Stephen Murray from Foran.

The R.J. Reuter Business Success Scholarship of $500 went to Elizabeth Voytershark of Jonathan Law High School.

A Milford Lions Club Scholarship of $500 went to Markus Santiago fo Fairfield College Prep School.

The Milford Chamber H&W Council awarded $500 to Marissa Gomes of Jonathan Law High School.

The Daniel Meisenheimer Jr, Memorial Scholarship for $2,500 went to Benjamin Huebner of Joseph A. Foran High School.

The Marcel Bich Memorial Scholarship of $1,000 wemt tp Bhavani Jaladanki of Jonathan Law High School.

A Schick award of $750 went to Jessica Napolitano of Lauralton Hall

A Stonebridge Restaurant Scholarship for $1,000 went to Samantha Steiner of Foran High School.

The Golden Hands Scholarship for $500 went to Jesse Pena of Platt Technical High School.

A second Golden Hands Scholarship for $500 was awarded to Heather Volkens of Platt Technical High School.

A Humanitarian  Scholarship of $500 went to Alejandra Lucero of Platt Technical High School.

A Humanitarian Scholarship for $500 went to Erin Aspinwall of Foran High School.

The J. Bruce Eagleson Memorial Scholarship by Westfield CT Post for $1,000 went to Tatiana Eng of Jonathan Law High School.

A Napoli Nissan Scholarship for $1,000 went to Kevin Pineda of Platt Technical High School, and a second Napoli Nissan Scholarship for $1,000 went to Alexandra Corsi of Joseph A. Foran High School.
