Are you looking for a fun, enriching project for your kids to work on over the holidays? Look no further.
Recognizing that Generation Z will be the first to travel to Mars — NASA, the National Institute of Aerospace and Rocket21 have organized a series of five challenges designed to help students identify and address the hurdles that must be met in order to make such a journey possible.
For the final challenge, contest participants will be asked to create 90-second podcasts presenting their recommendations for pursuing such an intense trip.
Twelve finalists will be selected to work with the producers of Innovation Now to polish their podcasts for broadcast to the show's 10 million listeners.
Youth who complete the Journey to Mars VOICES Competition will be eligible to win a series of prizes, including a grand prize trip to Washington, DC for the 2016 USA Science & Engineering Festival in April.
The contest runs until Feb. 29. Details may be found at rocket21.com/journeytomarschallenge
Connecticut students are encouraged to join the CT group page to access additional resources and support. Participating in the CT group will enable youth to verify their eligibility for incentives and prizes available ONLY to Connecticut students.
