Police nab burglary suspect, seek help from public

Milford police have arrested a man for his involvement in a commercial burglary that occurred at Automated Services located at 145 Pepes Farm Road in Milford on the evening of Aug. 31.

Police say that while they are continuing the investigation, video surveillance footage led them to arrest Dale Hackley, 36, a former employee of Automated Services.

Police say that Hackley, with the help of a second as yet unidentified suspect, stole merchandise from four company delivery trucks which were secured on the property.

Police are looking to identify the second suspect.

An arrest warrant was issued for Hackley and served on Sept. 29.

Hackley is being charged with five counts of third-degree burglary, four counts of second-degree criminal mischief, three counts of fifth-degree larceny, fourth-degree larceny and possession of burglar’s tools.

Hackley was held in police custody on a $25,000 bond and was to be arraigned at Milford Superior Court on Monday, Sept. 30.
