Milford police officials have confirmed that a 16-year old female student who was stabbed at Jonathan Law High School on Friday morning, April 25 has died.
Police said the victim, Maren Sanchez, was a popular student and athlete. Last year she was president of her class.
Police have not confirmed a motive in the killing, but Internet reports suggest the girl’s stabbing was related to a junior prom that had been scheduled for this evening at Vazzano's in Stratford.
Officials say that tonight’s prom has been postponed and councilors will be available at the school next week for students wanting to talk.
