Milford police arrested Matthew Quinn, 30, of Milford for assaulting police officers on Feb. 1 during a motor vehicle accident investigation on Bridgeport Avenue.
Police say Quinn fled the scene of the accident on foot, engaging officers in a foot pursuit. As police apprehended him, Quinn allegedly struck two officers and restrained an officer by the neck. Two of the officers suffered minor injuries.
Police found Quinn in possession of marijuana during his arrest.
Police say Quinn was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation and while at the hospital, he attempted to escape from custody and became physically combative with an officer. Quinn also spat fluid on the officer during the incident.
He is charged with three counts of assault on a police officer, two counts of interfering with police, two counts of third-degree assault, two counts of second-degree strangulation, second-degree breach of peace, and possession of marijuana.
Quinn was held on $120,000 bail.
