Milford man strikes firefighter during arrest

Milford police, responding to a complaint of an unresponsive person in a vehicle on West Avenue, arrested Robert Dube, 52, of Milford for assaulting a firefighter shortly after midnight on Tuesday, July 29.

According to a police statement, police and fire department personnel responded to the complaint and found Dube’s vehicle stopped in the middle of West Avenue.

Police say that during his arrest, Dube struck a firefighter in the face and physically struggled with police. A computer check revealed that Dube had a suspended driver’s license.

Dube is charged with Assault on a public safety employee, interfering with police, operating a vehicle with a suspended license and failure to return license. He was held on a $20,000.
