Milford Police Report: Dec. 17

Warrant arrest

Milford police took custody of Alec McDonald, 19, of Milford regarding several outstanding warrants for his arrest on Dec. 8. Police say that on Nov. 26, McDonald allegedly violated a protective order issued against him by the court.

Police also accuse McDonald of failing to appear in court on Nov. 12 for disorderly conduct, threatening, unlawful restraint, violating conditions of release, possession of narcotics, violating a protective order, and motor vehicle offenses stemming from six separate incidents in 2014.

In total, McDonald was charged with six counts of failure to appear in court and threatening.

He was held on $16,000 bond at the time of his arrest.

Disorderly conduct

Milford police arrested Daniel Chris, 24, of Fairfield on Dec. 9 after they received a complaint of a disturbance at a home on Bassett Street.

Investigation led to the arrest of Chris, who is accused of physically grabbing a female companion, damaging her personal property, and taking her cell phone away when she attempted to call police.

Chris is charged with disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call and third-degree criminal mischief.

He was released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 10.

DUI

Milford police arrested Mark Wetzel, 50, of Cheshire for DUI after they received a complaint of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Woodmont Road and Research Drive.

Police say they found Wetzel to be driving while intoxicated when he struck another vehicle from behind. Subsequent to his arrest, an Intoxilyzer test indicated he had an elevated blood alcohol content.

Wetzel is charged with driving while intoxicated and following to closely.

Bond was $500 for court on Jan. 8.

Stalking/DUI

Milford police arrested Jeffrey Scott, 59, of Shelton for DUI on Dec. 15 after they received a complaint that Scott violated a court-issued protective order by contacting his estranged spouse at her Milford residence.

According to the estranged spouse, Scott had been driving by her home and parking in front of her house. Police say they observed Scott’s vehicle traveling on the Boston Post Road in the vicinity of his estranged spouse’s home, resulting in a motor vehicle stop in which they found Scott to be driving while intoxicated.

When questioned by the police, Scott indicated he was on his way to his wife’s house. Subsequent to his arrest, an Intoxilyzer test indicated Scott had an elevated blood alcohol content of more than three times the limit.

Scott is charged with DUI, violation of protective order and first-degree stalking.

He was held on a $10,500 bond at the time of his arrest.

Weapon and drug charge

Milford police arrested a pair of Norwalk residents on drug and weapons charges after they conducted a vehicle stop on Dec. 14. Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by Tristina Duarte, 28, of Norwalk and learned that there was a warrant for her arrest by the Stamford Police Department for failing to appear in court. Police say they also located marijuana in the possession of her passenger, Damiyr Muhammad, 28, of Norwalk.

Subsequent to their arrest, police located a loaded .22-caliber handgun in Duarte’s purse and paraphernalia used to ingest marijuana. Muhammad claimed ownership of the weapon, stating he bought the weapon on the street in Bridgeport. Muhammad is a convicted felon and not permitted to possess or own a handgun.

Muhammad is charged with carrying a pistol without permit, criminal possession of a firearm, possession of weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, and conspiracy. He was held on a $25,000 bond at the time of his arrest.

Duarte is charged with carrying a pistol without permit, possession of weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and conspiracy. She was held on a $10,000 bond at the time of her arrest.
