Man charged with stabbing another at Redwood Monday night

A Milford man was charged with assault Monday night after he allegedly stabbed an employee at the Redwood Restaurant who was trying to restrain him.

Police said they got a call at about 11 p.m. about a fight inside the restaurant on Naugatuck Avenue. Daniel Woodhouse, 27, of Second Avenue reportedly became agitated while he was at the restaurant, though police do not know what caused his agitation. He then began to damage a juke box, police said.

When approached by an employee, Woodhouse struck him in the face, police said. The employee then tried to restrain Woodhouse until the police got there, and Woodhouse allegedly stabbed the employee in the back two times, causing a non-life threatening injury.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for his injuries and then released.

Woodhouse was charged with assault in the first degree, breach of peace and criminal mischief. He was held in police custody on a $500,000 bond.
