Webster Bank robbed: Police release picture of suspect

Milford police are investigating a bank robbery at Webster Bank, 314 Merwin Avenue, which occurred today, Nov. 30 at 11:45 a.m.

Police say a man entered the bank through the front door, approached a teller, and passed a note that said, “This is a robber, give me all the large bills in the draw.”

No weapon was displayed during the robbery. After receiving the money, the suspect left on foot out the rear door towards Dunbar Road.

A police officer and K-9 tracked the suspect, and the track ended in the area of Dunbar Road and New Haven Avenue, where it is believed the suspect fled in a vehicle, police said.

The suspect is described as a medium build white man with facial hair, in his late 20s or early 30s, approximately 5’5” to 5’7”, wearing a gray winter cap and sunglasses, gray and black hooded sweatshirt, jeans and sneakers.

The Connecticut Bankers Reward Association is offering a $500 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect in this bank robbery.
